Welcome back to Alert, Aware, Mindful
Please enjoy my interview with Phillip Montgomery as he discusses the abandonment of young men, particularly men of color. Also, the lack of guidance, social-emotional skills available to these men, and how it dooms them to solve problems, without preparing them for how to find the best solution—and the inevitable explosion that results from this cycle.
We talk about how to intervene to support these young (teen-young adult aged)males. Montgomery makes a strong case for Poverty being the real diagnosis and mental illness as the secondary result/expression of this and where to look for solutions— as opposed to pointing the finger or abandoning the issue to help these young men thrive.
