Why Baths are a Lifesaver in De-stressing

I love taking baths. They are extremely effective for sore joints and tired muscles. With the aid of Epsom salts, essential oils, and products to soften the skin, it literally removes the achiness from my body.  The salt baths are very cleansing to the body and many times the mind.

 

For those who are afraid of soaking in their own filth as a friend of mine once said, I recommend taking a quick shower before and a quick rinse after.  Make it into a real experience. I like night baths because I can use candles (real or electric), light incense, and put on meditation music or guided meditation and just breathe. Sometimes I deep condition my hair or do a face mask, but I usually just hang out until the water turns cold.

Put on your favorite playlist and just relax. Make sure you are alone, some parents might have to do this after the kids have gone to bed.

But early morning baths are an invigorating way to start the day too. So finds what works for your schedule just as long as you SCHEDULE IT in.

Self-care isn’t optional, it’s good mental health hygiene. Without it we wither and die—and I’m not even being melodramatic, it’s true.
